Bem Estar do Menor (BEM) is a philanthropic institution belonging to the Pentecostal Missionary Evangelic Church. BEM, acts on the inland of the state of Minas Gerais, in the cities of Sabinópolis, Euxenita, Córrego Doce, Materlândia, Paulistas, Senhora do Porto, Carmésia, Rio Vermelho and on the island of Itaparica, Bahia, serving children, teenagers and families in a social vulnerability situation. The organization was born in 1967, when the missionary Dutch couple, Nicolaas and Trijnie van Eijk founded, in Sabinópolis, the first church (IEMP). Noticing the countless social issues and motivated by the text of I John 3:17, they realized that the gospel should be shown trough love and care to the neighbors. After assisting people on their home, sharing their own belongs, they were able to found in 1973, after struggling to get resources, BEM, and the first day care.
Contribute to the Integral development of children, adolescents, families and communities through sustainable socio-educational actions aimed at a dignified life.
BEM develops educational and social assistance projects, covering publics from several age ranges.
Creche contributes to the integral development and social insertion of 0 to 03 years old kids in its 08 units, offering Child Education of ensured quality. BEM Daycares present themselves as a possible and feasible way of basic rights advocacy as it builds an embracing society aware of its duties as Brazilian children based on bible principles. In 2017, it was attended 341 children from 06 months to 03 years old (167 boys and 174 girls) in 200 working days.

This project comes from the local needs of attending 04 to 11 years old kids that left the Creche Project. Its main goal is to complement pedagogical activities of school from an individual perspective as the major kids start their studies at the municipal and state schools. Besides attending 04 to 11 years old kids that comes from vulnerable context, it considers the integral formation and the Education as a continuous process that generates social transformation. In 2017, 362 04 to 11 years old kids were attended (176 boys and 186 girls).

Develop processes in which families, communities, organizations and community leaders in the territory work together in order to elaborate community development proposals through an active participation with involvement of several governmental and non-governmental actors. The target is to reach an united and empowered community, searching for local problems solutions through service and representative articulation of Public and Private Power.
At the community centers, there are activities in development, such as:
KIDS FELLOWSHIP CENTER - Attends to 03 to 11 years old kids in the school counter turn shift at the Community Center facility. Kids come from socioeconomic vulnerable families. At the Fellowship Center, the proposal is to accomplish specific attendance with school support, pedagogical activities, guitar classes, dancing classes, devotional and social promotion.
CFAMILY FELLOWSHIP CENTER - Executed in Rio Vermelho Community Center in partnership with the local public authorities, its main difference among other initiatives is the family approach that involves father, mother, sons, daughters and grandparents). Each family enjoys individual attendance with a social agent once a week. The basic proposal is to strength family attachments through activities developed by kids along with their families.
VAMOS WÖRDEN - It aims to provide teenagers that used to have too much spare and useless time at Chapadinha, a new experience of community through the involvement in activities such as school support, art, music, sport, social inclusion, devotional within the family, school, community and BEM. It contributes to family and community network strength. It also considers youngsters’ potential as protagonists of their own stories.
Locations with community center: Sabinópolis (neighborhood Nova Pousada) e Rio Vermelho (neighborhood Chapadinha).
Elderly Women promotion and socialization through socio-cultural activities, aiming at the reintegration into social life and strengthening of spirituality to improve the quality of life. This work is carried out in the Coexistence Centers located in Belo Horizonte and Sabinópolis with the capacity to attend up to 100 participants. Among the frequent actions: manual handicrafts, devotions, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, senior group dance and other activities. The realization of monthly meetings, annual meetings, exchange, camping, Christmas party and permanent bazaar were activities relevant to the achievement of the objectives
Locations: Sabinópolis and Belo Horizonte.
Family Agriculture Program is relevant due the production of organic food and income generation for the participants. The program aims at family subsistence and improving the quality of life of the community. By selling the surplus farmers' families have access to quality food as they access extra income.
